Artist's description:

This is an original hand-carved linocut printed in a very subtle mix of crimson and orange ink. Only a very small run of these prints were made, only two are left for sale in the edition, so it is a must buy for any collector!

The artwork was initially made as a poster to advertise a comedy show organised by 'The Quack Quack Comedy Club' in Newcastle Upon Tyne, in the North-East of England. However, ironically, I was informed at the time, one of the key comedians was suffering from depression, so the gig got cancelled and hence the posters never got used. The work shows a surreal image of a cat with webbed duck feet and a fez hat (in reference to the late Tommy Cooper) doing a comedy routine in front of the microphone and a crowd of rubber ducks! The sun radiates down through the whole image, representing the comedian who metaphorically lights up our life with laughter and provides us with a ray of sunshine.

This is a limited edition linocut, printed on beautiful Somerset printmaking paper.

Your print will come wrapped in protective tissue paper to reach you in the best condition.

If you have any questions relating to the work before purchase please don't hesitate to ask me.
