Artist's description:

Located along the banks of the River Severn at Purton, there are to be found the remains of boats deliberately wrecked in order to stabilise the banks. Their skeletons can still be seen rising up from the reeds and sedge grasses. The painting is a direct response to that area and the poetic quality it has in terms of loss and purpose.

Materials used:

oil, charcoal and pencil
