I remember during my first trip to Provence, I fell crazily in love with the sunlight and the colors as Van Gogh did more than a hundred years ago. Visits to local markets are feast to the eyes as well as the nose and mouth. Simple items like tomatoes were so beautiful that shine like red jewels in the sun. Looking at this painting takes me back to those lovely markets.
