Part of my series of Muses, each one complete with its own symbol, quote or words of wisdom, intended to inspire the viewer. This one features the glyph for prosperity.
A bind rune (Icelandic: bandrún) is a ligature of two or more runes, joined together to form a single glyph. They are extremely rare in Viking Age inscriptions, but are common in pre-Viking Age (Proto-Norse) and in post-Viking Age (medieval) inscriptions.
Painted on a treated wood block using acrylic and inks. A very fine brush was used to blend the paint, creating a striking contrast between light and dark. The finished piece is varnished with 3 coats, creating a shining textured surface to give the piece a worn crackled effect, hinting at it's ancient symbolic connection. This effect can be seen in the photos.
This piece is ready to hang with a small hook attached to the top, perfect to bring inspiration to any home or workplace.
The painting is signed on the front and comes with a signed Certificate of Authenticity attached to the back of the board.
