Artist's description:

I love painting abstract shapes and in this painting I have combined by love of abstract shapes with my love of Ancient Egyptian art. The painting shows a priestess of Isis holding the sacred sistrum of Isis and wearing the cloak of Isis which is decorated with stars. The abstract shapes surrounding her symbolise her magical nature. The symbols at the side are the crown of Isis and Hathor, who became identified with Isis, The Djed Column which represented 'stability', the Knot of Isis which was regarded as protective, the Sa which was also a symbol of protection and the Ring of Eternity which was often held by gods. The dress of the priestess is decorated with the Ankh which was a symbol of life and she is holding some lotus flowers which were regarded as sacred. The sun disc shines above her head.
