Question for the artist?

Artist's description:

Beautifully lucid and gentle watercolour that may kindly represent the dialectical reasoning and the Marxist concept of alienation. A western civilization example would be a motorist sat in a traffic jam after obtaining a motor car to give themselves more freedom. Inevitably in all forms of society human beings become held prisoner to their own creations. Another concept of Sartre's known as the 'Practice Inert.'....Is that gate shut?
