Artist's description:

My poppies are blooming like crazy...light pinks and dark reds! And the pods are just as beautiful! So this is my tribute to the mighty poppy pod! It's such a great vessel for holding all the seeds, and the top is this symmetrical little button. I've always been a poppy pod fan, but this is the first time I've made a linocut of one.

I adhered three different kinds of papers onto a sheet of Strathmore 500 printing paper: Japanese and Thai colored papers. Then I printed my poppy pod in black right over the papers. I love this collage-ish print! The burgundy/raspberry paper suggests the poppy plants to come!

Materials used:

linoleum, oil-based ink, Strathmore 500 paper, Japanese rice paper, Thai paper.
