Although I love painting seascapes once in a while I like to turn to flowers - usually daisies or poppies. I love the vibrant reds of poppies with their dark centres and often paint them on a light background but this one has a brown, almost black background which makes the red really stand out. Although my little paintings such as this one can be framed I like to give them a place on top of a table, cabinet etc so there is a little mini easel included with this work.
