The brightness and boldness of the poppies in the garden attracted my attention and I had to explore the intensity and look deeper, so I painted them against the green of the studio as contrast. An escape route was included to add balance with more muted colours as I wanted to give the impression of further depth to rest the eye from the extravagance of the poppies.
