When we came to look at our house when it was for sale, the poppies were blooming, and I was mesmerized. I have so many photos of the poppies, and not so many of the house. I think that they turned my attention away from the house and I didn't see all of the rotting bits. I didn't mind that there really wasn't a kitchen, and not one speck of storage in the house. They had poppies! In hind sight, I wonder what on earth I was thinking.
the house took a bit of work, and now have a proper kitchen and even a closet. And we still have those magical poppies! Every year, I look forward to them blooming, and am still mesmerized.
