This has been inspired by the British Actress Audrey Hepburn in the iconic film "Roman Holiday (1953)" with Gregory Peck in the Golden Era of Hollywood. She takes a Scooter and rides though the Streets of Rome in Italy. She rides the wrong way around a roundabout, swerves and this uneasiness is indicated in this work by the inclined scooter. This was a black and white film but has been given a modern twist by making the work with Pop Art colours.
Has been inspired by Audrey when she rides a Classic "Vespa" scooter, modified to "Vinci" and given a Post-Pop Art Retro feel by the use of Pop Art colours, Blue, Red, Yellow etc. Inspiration has been from the Mods of the 1960s. Circular Disks of Primary Colours have been superimposed on the centre inlet grille, light and mirrors to make more Retro feel. The background had been used as Orange which is the compliment colour of Blue of the Scooter.
Has been inspired by a roundabout, and the film "Magic Roundabout (2005)". Within the work a central circle, represents a roundabout, and contains a secret message, Four Letter word in Binary code. The Circle is divided into Four quadrants, each represents a Letter. With An infill square of either, Blue, Red or Yellow indicates a 1 in the Binary Code, such that from the outer Circumference circle to the inner, it will display a Letter from the Alphabet, and forms words. Such that in the Top Left hand quadrant, from outer to inner spells Letter “S” represented by 01110011 in the work. Similarly from the Top Left in a clockwise direction, the other Binary are 01110100, 01101111, 01110000, together they form a Four Letter word.
