This is favourite local beach, famous for the inspiration for Daphne du Maurier's book Rebecca. The day visited was after a storm which had banked the sand up at the back of the beach and leaving strands of seaweed strewn across the sand. At low tide there is a rusty old ship wreck sticking out of the rocks, atmospheric as the sun goes down, conjuring up images of smugglers.
Painted on a 4cm deep edge canvas, the painting continues around the edges and is ready to hang.
