We all know Polar bears are in trouble. They are listed as Vulnerable by the IUCN, meaning their numbers are in decline. The ice caps are melting more each year as the planet warms. This means that the amount of sea in between each ice sheet gets larger each year, and the bears need these solid ice platforms upon which to hunt. They are struggling to swim such vast distances to find food, especially when they have cubs.
The anatomical heart painted on the bear's chest communicates my trademark message of 'Love Wildlife'. I promote this as a hashtag (#LoveWildlife) in all my Twitter and Instagram posts. You can find me on both sites at @Jane_Mutiny.
This is an original artwork, unframed, painted in acrylic with highlights in gold paint, on a plywood panel measuring 15 x 21cm. It is signed and dated on the front and features the animal name, locality and conservation status on the back. The work comes ready to hang, with d-rings fastened to the back, and the artwork is finished in a UV protective matte varnish.
Thanks for looking!
