Artist's description:
Coble Landing at Filey, North Yorkshire is a long slipway where old traditional coble fishing boats are landed. At high tide the sea is often parallel with the landing wall. Each wave causes a surge of water to run the full length of the wall. These little boys were enjoying being showered by these waves. Luckily the water was not strong enough to wash them away, although we did lose sight of them with each passing wave. Just boys having a wonderful time!
Shadow mounted in Rustic Wood frame, cream/ivory colour with a double creamy white border with Artglass Conservation Grade non-reflective glass.

Ink Resist (an old technique which I have tailored to suit my style). My paintings undergo several processes to reach the end result which is unpredictable and quite delightful to create
Ink resist paintings have a unique surface texture. They can be fairly smooth and matte (depending upon how much paint was applied in the first instance) and can appear a little shabby or unrefined. For me this is very appealing and very much the hallmark of this type of painting.
I have been producing Ink Resist paintings since 2015 although I have been playing with the process on and off for about ten years. It is quite unique. I will be adding more paintings shortly
