I lived in a particular building just outside Waikiki in Honolulu for several years, and my parking space was on level P4, which was about even with the top of several coconut palms. One morning I went to my car and as I was getting in, I saw several pigeons perched on a palm tree right next to my car. I snapped a picture. Later, I looked at the photograph and realized that the pigeons had spaced themselves ideally, composition-wise. I decided to paint it, and I did so in one crazy, energy-filled session, where everything came together effortlessly, as if it were meant to be. I loved the painting so much I decided not to sell it, and it hung on the wall of my apartment in Honolulu for many years. Much has changed in my life in the last couple of years, and while I'll always love this painting, I'm now ready to let go of it, which is why I'm now offering it here.
