Artwork description:

This vibrant and bold painting maps the route between two significant London landmarks — Piccadilly Circus and Trafalgar Square and the area formally known as Charring Cross. The motif becoming a pictogram of a charred cross. The varied turquoise green background both reveals layers of drips and supports the additive complementary colors. The main arteries are navy encased in pale ochre.

Featured in Homes and Gardens UK magazine.

About the series: When I lived in a vast city and relied on public transit and foot, the effort and time to move from point a to b is an ever-present part of life perspective, therefore some Linescapes are defining physical boundaries and morphing into cartographic themes.

Note: this painting, left unframed, intentionally reveals my artistic process. The random paint build-up and serendipitous drips that coat the sides of the deep edge canvas are meant to be seen.

Materials used:

acrylic paint on deep edge canvas
