Dear and valued collector,

The 'White Eden Collection' is made of much larger sized sculptures designed for both outdoors and indoors. These two sculptures, like the ‘Age Bronze Collection’ is a very eclectic and modernist collection compared to the current direction of work seen in my ‘Eternal Ancestors Collection’. And again, probably echoed or influenced by the work of 'Henry Moore'.

These sculptures are rock-solid. They are supported by a very strong double welded frame of iron pipes. Square section pipes rather than circular section pipes as these pipes are much more rigid. This type of internal welded structure allows for creative shapes to be turned into physical sculptures.
See the ‘Creativity versus Gravity’ sculpture for example, where thin arms carry the weight of proportionately much more voluminous and heavy hands. These creative designs, on paper first, or on smaller prototypes, have to face the reality and limitations of physics and formulate a range of creative architectural solutions. Therefore the sculptor has to constantly envisage the practicality of each design and engineer architectural solutions that can demonstrate the feasibility of fancy creative designs generated by the artist’s impulse and thought imagination rather.

Sculpture, unlike flat 2d art, is real. Drawings and painting, in comparison, are only pencil drafts. Drawing a bridge has nothing to do with building the real thing.

Only after a strong and rigid skeleton is built is then time to model and carve the intended sculptural design. Here it is important to build the strongest welding structures but also important to keep the metal skeleton as slim as possible, to allow the freedom to manipulate the proportions of the creation.

The sculptural process involves both modelling (adding) and carving (subtracting). When the piece is satisfactorily completed, the surface is smoothened and then treated following a process similar to the preparation of cars shells. Several coats of acrylic paints and varnishes to lock-seal the sculpture for outdoors and gardens display.

I find white being a great contrast against green gardens. The two 'White Eden' pieces here presented are unique pieces, of course. Only one of a kind. Only one available of each.

Made in Sicily. Delivery to be organized from my Sicilian Atelier.
