On the edge of the tideline I could just make out the silhouette of a man kneeling amongst the rocks with a bucket at his side. His dog bounced through the heaps of squishy slippery kelp. I remembered the days when I was a young girl, digging tunnels into the sand, clam fishing beside my dad. In my bare feet, I walked slowly over the barnacle covered rocks towards the man and his dog. Curiosity and nostalgia sending me his way.
'Periwinkles' he said, as I looked into his bucket. And then we chatted about the ocean, the Pacific, the Atlantic, the tides, the sea life and the days gone by.
In this creation, I blended vibrant acrylics with delicate ink lines to capture the fluid dance of light across the sea. Periwinkle blue and mint green come into this semi-abstract seascape or even dreamscape horizon. The art continues along the edges and is signed on the front and the back of the painting.
