This is an original oil painting on heavy ('rag') paper. The work is 16 inches high by 11 inches wide. It is matted to an outside dimension of 20 inches by 16 inches. The palette is muted, primarily earth and skin tones. The subject is a bust high male portrait.
The subject appears a middle aged anglo male. He has dark auburn hair, parted on the side, wisps across his forehead, thickly resting on his neck and shoulders. His features are pronounced, larger eyes and mouth, prominent nose. He is quite thin with hollowness in his cheeks. The work's title is 'Pensive Man' and that he is. His body, shown bust high in a looser drawn style, faces slightly away from the viewer. The man's head is turned to face the viewer directly. Heavy lids contour large almond eyes under thinner eyebrows which are not quite relaxed.
The work is in pristine condition and signed by the artist. The work is matted in white museum board as shown. The work is pictured with framing only for sizing perspective.
