Artist's description:

Pen-Y-Ghent is the 1st of the peaks in the Yorkshire 3 Peaks. I remember stood exactly at the point, right at the beginning of the path, at about 6.30am. I was surrounded by hundreds of other people who had also thought doing the 3 Peaks challenge was a good idea. I, however, was having second thoughts. I'd only walked from the car park to the bottom of the first hill and I was already out of breath and my legs were aching. I looked up at the majesty of Pen-Y-Ghent as the sun was beginning to rise and I knew there wasn't a choice so I smiled and carried on (the smile had completely gone by the time I reached the base of Ingleborough where I thought it might be a good idea to fake a broken leg and get the air ambulance to give me a lift home!).
