Artist's description:

One of, if not the best player to have ever graced the world of football, Pele!

Pele started his professional footballing career with a massive statement, at the tender age of just 17 he wins the world cup with Brazil (1958), scoring two goals in the final against Sweden.
Through out his footballing career, Pele went on to win numerous trophies for both club and country including three world cups and countless personal awards. To round this all off he was named Player of the Century in 2000.

Life after football has seen Pele involved in an incredible amount of charity work across the globe and he continues to receive awards for his hard work, 1995 saw him become the Minister for Sport in Brazil and in 1997 he received an honorary knighthood from Queen Elizabeth II.

When painting this portrait I decided to loosen up a bit from my more rigid sketches I had been producing, lavishing the canvas with thick acrylic paint was a real enjoy and brought some much needed energy of which the piece deserves.
