Artist's description:

I had had a commission for a regular 1940s style pin up girl sitting inside a heart. I liked the idea but wanted to give it a twist. And Peacockular Hypertension was born. Part peacock. Part Showgirl. Ocular hypertension is a condition affecting the eyes. The fluid that protects the eyes usually drains away in most people. In some it builds up behind the eye, pressing on the optic nerve and destroying it. It can lead to glaucoma and blindness if not treated. I suffer from it, but it is well in hand. As I was making this piece I was thinking what a hassle it would be if all the eyes on the plumage had to be treated every evening to prevent damage. Hence Peacockular Hypertension!

Materials used:

Coloured mirror and glass, MDF, solvent free glue, grout.
