Artist's description:

I had a day off from work--my first in a couple of weeks--and it was absolutely beautiful out so I decided to go painting. My original plan was to go up to Hingham to paint--I have a spot all selected--so I hit the road around 8:30, but soon ran into traffic. I realized that if I went to Hingham, I wouldn't be able to accomplish Part 2 of my art plans for the day--drawing at Kate Huntington's figure drawing session in Providence (it's totally excellent! you should go!). So I turned around and headed south on 95 in the general direction of Providence and ended up getting off in Pawtucket. Keep in mind, I've driven past this exit possibly a thousand times in my years in Massachusetts and this was the first one where I thought, "Slater Mill! Hmm... I wonder what that looks like?"

Well, it looks fantastic. I'm kicking myself! I've been back twice, there's that much to paint. I did the little view of the Pawtucket River below, then headed over to Kate's for some drawing.
