Park Bench h2 ~ a truly original (1/1) photograph
A weathered blue bench under a a tree in a small community park of Lexington, NC. It is early Autumn, the air is crisp and the leaves are starting to fall. I am not one to seek out symmetry in my photography work but the placement of the tree and the blue bench captured my attention. I loved the fairly distant background and wanted to use a very shallow depth-of-field to keep the attention on the two main elements of the image.
This image is "h2" indicating it is the 2nd of two images made of this scene. Both h1 and h2 are unique originals and are the actual photographic paper used in the camera at the time of exposure. Each image has slightly different qualities. h2 is slightly lighter and has slightly less depth-of-field compared to h1
A black and white 5x7 direct positive fiber base print. This image is the actual photographic paper used in the photographers Kodak 2-D 5x7 camera at time of exposure. The image appears reversed from how one would perceive the actual scene because the camera lens casts an inverted image onto the photographic paper.
The paper is a direct positive photographic fibre base paper which has been carefully processed, washed and treated with selenium toner in the photographer darkroom.
The print has been dry mounted using bright white 8x10 archival matboard. The signed and dated top mat is dry mounted as well making this a solid piece. Framing is black metal with premium anti-reflective Water White ArtGlass. Complete framed size is approximately 9.4x11.4x.75
