Original artwork description:

A summer evening in Paris, and I am alone, walking, exploring, breathing in the shadows of the city. The sky is red, pink, like a raspberry ripple, a ripening peach. There is mystery, patches of lengthening darkness and the dying brightness of light on the stucco of the upper floors. I have a twinge of envy, coveting a Parisian flat of my own, and curiosity too, imagining what lies behind each window, shelves of books, charming dinners and the smell of stews and casseroles. The discordant notes of classical music and a news bulletin competing with the clattering of plates, the sound of traffic from a nearby street, car horns, a closing shop shutter. I savour this stolen Parisian moment. The work is full of colour and atmosphere, a lovely blend of realism and emotion.

Texture has been added to create extra depth. The canvas is 0.5 inches deep and can therefore hang without a frame if wished.
