Beautiful bowl that has been pit fired 7.5" x 3"
Pit firing is the oldest method of firing clay and leaves amazing
marks and colours. Organic materials like banana skins, seaweed ferns and
vegetables are dried and added to the pit, along with wood. The bowls are
left overnight in the red hot embers of the fire and in the morning amazing things
have happened overnight ! The ancients used this method and it has a very natural beauty, the pieces are finished with Cornish beeswax, there is no shiny glaze, very natural, very organic.
