During my travels in America and Mexico I began a series of work inspired by the contemplation of sunlight as it travelled through glass and crystal prisms. This particular painting documents the play of light, the refractions of the sky and surroundings of the west coast of Mexico. It also speaks to me of the premise of cosmometry in that the universe is a fractal-holographic phenomenon that displays a synergetic interplay of energy and consciousness. It is to me a visual reminder of our unified understanding of cosmic coherence.
It's title refers to a state of consciousness in which the mind
receives light and divides, distributes and breaks it up into separated aspects, powers and multiplicities of all kinds.
Painted in many layers of oil paint, it carries a rich, velvety luminous glow.
