Over The River
An dark and moody abstract monotype painting. The quiet tones and bold bridge-like shape brings to mind a bridge or boat set in a wintery landscape. The texture of subtly raised paint contrasts with the smooth black paint.
Some viewers see a boat and others see a river with a stone bridge stretching across. The colors are inspired by early morning winter light bouncing off the snow.
I created this work using white, blue, black, and quinacridone magenta acrylic paints. I apply the paint to a gelatin plate using rollers, and spatulas and then transfer the paint to the paper.
"Over The River" has a cozy personality and enhances small spaces with it's dense warm personality.
