What inspired me to create this work was a couple who I saw dancing alone on the dance floor away from all looks since the rest of the people went out to dance at the terrace. For them, at that precise moment, only each other existed and they didn't realized that the group was no longer there.
I wanted to represent that lovely moment of that couple under a spotlight, simile of being in a bubble, isolated from the rest of the universe.
This work was drawn in pastels with acrylic paint base. Pastels to represent the softness and dissemination of important areas, and acrylic paint base to provide a strong contrast.
I feel very comfortable working in the range of black and white. It is my first nature because I feel they convey a lot and also because it is the range every art student uses at the beginning.
