Artist's description:

What's the first thing that comes to your mind when you hear "sunrise"? I, like many of you, paint a picture in my mind with crimson skies and golden rays and what not. This sunrise is pretty much the opposite of all things you'd associate with a sunrise, but not one bit less gorgeous for that.

All my sunrises were painted during the spring months - when the air is still chill and can be really cold on an odd day. On this day, it was a freezing -2 degrees that I was painting in. And for once, the frost covered field in front of me looked even more awesome than even the sky. I decided to make the fields the focus of the painting and create a very muted, desaturated and quiet sunrise. If you feel peaceful looking at this painting, I have achieved what I set out to.:)

The colours in the painting are as accurate as possible, but they are way better in person. If you have any questions, write to me.
