Artist's description:

I travel to the West Coast of Scotland very often, and usually end up on at least one of the Hebridean islands every time! So this time I was on the Isle of Arran, wandering along the coast taking photos and making sketches.

This crofthouse right by the shore is a fairly common scene on these islands and what really caught my eye was the wee red boat pulled up on the sand. The light was wonderfully clear that day and so the colours were really clear so I enjoyed parking myself on a convenient rock and making a couple of sketches. There was no-one home at the time, so I had the entire beach to myself! It was a very special moment that I really treasured and I hope that the painting of this scene will add a feeling of peace and serenity to anyone's life.

The painting is oil on stretched canvas and is unframed. It is 30cm x 60cm in size and the canvas is 20cm deep. It is not painted on the edges and is designed to be framed to your own liking.

Materials used:

canvas, wooden stretchers, oil paints, sketches, photographs.

On the shore, Isle of Arran. 12" x 24" (2018)
