Artist's description:

The recession was hard, but the level of construction is now at a frenzy. Every little piece of land becomes a towering building or 50 town homes. To do this they knock down every tree. So I don't always view this activity as progress. What I see are sideways trees pulled up by giant earth movers, piles of red dirt, and the rising steel frames of buildings.

Perhaps if I can plant enough trees, my corner will become a forest. One can only hope.

Materials used:

wood, limestone paste, acrylic paint, paper, mediums, charcoal, ink
