Artist's description:

Vision... the ability to see, to discern shapes and colors and boundaries...

A few months ago I experienced what is called an "occular migraine", during which I temporarily lost half of the vision in my right eye. I have tried to describe the experience with words like "frightening" and "terrifying", and phrases such as "it was as though my right eye had been cut in half vertically" or "like a great propellor was spinning in the right side of my brain". All totally inadequate descriptions.

The whole thing lasted less than 15 minutes, cause uncertain to this day. These are actually a fairly common thing, I understand now. But the blessing was that my sight returned as good as ever, and in gratitude I made this small painting to try and show, rather than tell, what it was like.

Mixed media on paper.
