Artist's description:

Route 66 is the latest production by photographer Jacobo Montvelisky.

Route 66 absorbs and propagates all the magic of a journey, impregnated with joys, sorrows and nostalgia. A route that was traveled daily by thousands of people. Nowadays it is no man's land: ghost towns, faded stories in the twilight, abandoned gas stations, vehicle lags that seem to recall the lives of their owners and some motels that once professed, through flamant neon-lit signs, a time, and a life they pretended was going to be eternal.

"Route 66" is Jacobo's first foray into the arduous and exciting work of individual samples. It was created along the way during a legendary and enchanting Route 66 crossing with his father. Through this artistic creation Jacobo dedicates his impression of the now desolate road, and shows us his painstaking art in the exquisite handling of light and twilight.

Route 66 was one of the most important pioneer federal roads in the United States. It extended from Chicago to Los Angeles, with a route of 3,939 kilometers before it was replaced by large inter-state highway networks. Several fans have proposed the monumental task of restoring and keeping alive this fantastic piece of history, so that year after year hundreds of travelers, some solitary, others accompanied by family or friends, peregrine on the "Mother Road". As soon as the rays of the sun turn orange and a great ball of fire begins to disappear in the distance, they narrate their countless adventures and their fantastic legends about this colossal monument, which nowadays the interstates try to bury in oblivion.
