Artist's description:

The history of legendary Greek king of Ithaca Odysseus, who participated in the Trojan War, and later was trying to get home for 10 years, inspired many artists to create art works dedicated to the different stages of his life. Saturation of story with all sorts of metaphors and allegories are not left indifferent, and the author of this illustration.
The arrival of the ships with envoys of King Agamemnon, which has informed Odysseus about the impending war, were dipped him into consideration. The question of whether to leave Ithaca to participate in a great war that will bring glory and riches to all participants, or to stay home and protect it from possible enemy attacks at the time of his absence, put him in front of goal.
