Oil painting inspired by 'Le Grand Odalisque' Jean-Auguste-Domenique Ingres painting. I have found the reproduction of this painting in a vintage French book and was captured by the story behind the art piece. The French term odalisque derives from the Turkish-Ottoman word odalik, which refers to a female slave owned by a Muslim male as his legal concubine. So I have added a tear in the eye of odalisque to express the filling of sorrow.
Materials: oil paints on canvas.
