This piece was inspired by the relationship between ocean movement and beach shores. The ocean drift moves 10 to 15 miles per day because of wind and underlying currents, carrying many natural and manmade objects through its natural force.
This two sided piece includes a blackmithed stand that imitates waves as well as a wonderful boat piece (decorated with petrified algae and funny looking fishes that include agates, shells, glass, etc.
Through a very complex assembly process, this piece shows order and chaos in the way the ocean moves and lives.
All the pieces were found through many miles of beachcombing on Canadian eastern and western shores.
In sum, a truly unique sculpture that attempts to embody the spirit of ocean travel...and all the surprises that can be found on beaches as a result.
