Artwork description:
A large black and white version of 'NYC'. Inspired by an i phone photo taken from a New York taxi. I have twisted and reinterpreted the original image using multiple techniques: hard ground for the line, soft ground for texture, aquatint for the flat tones and spit bite for the random pattern in the sky. This work is wrapped in tissue and carefully rolled into a wide (10cm) thick-walled cylinder.
Materials used:
Somerset satin paper 250g, Intaglio printing inks, zinc plate
