Artist's description:

Sometimes 'no' is the hardest word to say. This painting resulted from my interest in feminism, in 'no means no', issues of consent, and issues of speech - whose speech matters, and why? When are we empowered to speak, and when are we silenced?

On a painterly level this little picture has also got roots in street art, tagging and graffiti. As always it features some of my favourite shades of blue and pink, for an image that is candy sweet.

It's painted on a lightweight canvas - I think it would look fabulous in a glossy white frame, but it comes unframed to allow its new owner to choose what's best. Please also check out my other paintings, and I always love a commission so feel free to contact me if you have an idea for something extra special.
