This stone circle, also known as The Grey Ladies, stands in a field in Derbyshire, near a rocky outcrop called Robin's Hood Stride. As the name suggests, it is thought to have originally consisted of nine stones, but only 4 remain.
It took a while to find this circle, despite it's proximity to the small road passing by, and I was met with various signs prohibiting parking or turning in gateways to the farmer's fields and buildings. No problem, as I was on a motorcycle.
Glorious sunshine bathed the stones in light, but a storm was brewing in the distance. filling the sky with moody looking clouds, while the stones shone in the sun from behind. I made very few adjustments to this image, mainly to the colour of the grass, giving it a glowing luminescence.
With the storm closing in and thunder rumbling in the distance, I made my escape, but ended up passing through the storm, which pelted me in hailstones. Well worth it.
