Original artwork description:

Meet Nina! One of a small flock of starlings currently living at my house, but who really wants to come to yours!
She is built onto plywood and has a three dimensional front wing and body. I used iridescent black glass which is perfect to describe her lovely colours. Her body spots are mother of pearl shell rounds.
Ready to hang for an indoor wall only.
I live in Somerset, not far from the famous starling murmurations on the Avalon Marshes. I also see large flocks of them on the hills where I live, they gather and sing in the trees (very loud!) and feed in the fields before they go down to the levels and roost in the reed beds on the marshes.
Size approx 20 cm beak to tail and wings are approximately 20 cm long. (Starling size)

Materials used:

plywood, wire, cement mixtures, polystyrene, glass tiles, millefiori, mother of pearl shell rounds
