A couple of years ago the local council introduced these LED streetlights in place of the murky, harsh "noisey" orange light of the previous streetlights.
This meant one could shoot photography at night more effectively and the lights almost introduced "day light" and day colours into the dark night, completely transforming what one could see and paint. This painting is a good example of this, with it's brilliant-red post box, the lush green leaves and the yellowy coppery leaves on the road contrast with bluey purples, and terracotta brickwork to name a few.
This painting is of a beautiful Victorian terrace row of houses on Oakwood Road, near my home and beside Brynmill Park in Swansea.
