I'm fascinated by the the horizon - the place where the land meets the sky is often full of wonderful colours an atmospheric effects. Often the most mundane and ordinary landscapes are transformed by the distant showers, rays of sunshine and shimmering light.

Here is one such view, a simple combination of land, sky and just a hint of the distant sea, viewed from the west pennines and looking out over the Lancashire plain to the Fylde coast and the sea beyond.

Oil on deep edged canvas (no frame required)
