Original artwork description:

Natalia Revueltas Clews (December 26, 1925 - February 27, 2015)
She was born in Havana, Cuba, but moved to Pennsylvania where she grew most of her life and studied 3 languages; Italian, English and French. She was considered one of the most beautiful women of Havana in her time. She married a cardiologist, bored with her life of superficial luxuries and her husband, decided to join the political activism, which thanks to the poet Jorge Valls presented her with Fidel, and at that moment the adventure with Castro began. The frequent meetings by the clandestine movement of the Moncada barracks favored the relationship between them, and became more evident when Castro leaves prison on Pinos Island and the amnesty arrived. The painting is merged with a neighborhood of Havana, contrasting poverty

Materials used:

Acrylic and ink
