This bold semi-abstract oil painting was created in an attempt to evoke an emotional response to walking in the Fells in the Lake District, UK. It was early Spring and the snow was still on the fell tops of the highest peaks. The technique I have used is a thin mixture of oil paints, painting mediums and linseed oil to make the paint as thin and translucent as possible.
'Mountain' is a visual dialogue to express the sheer exhilaration of being in the mountains.
The painting is varnished with a high quality lustre oil paint varnish that will help protect the painting from dust, grease and UV damage.
The oil paints are a high quality pigment and Premium Wide depth 10oz Stretched Cotton Canvas. I use a greener alternative to traditional turpentine and white spirit.
