Late morning, Maasai Mara, Kenya. A lioness is on a walk with her three cubs. Two of the cubs accompany her dutifully but the third cub has a mind of its own. It refuses to be obedient. So, in her cool way, mother picks it up and carries it in her jaw. I can see a photograph that communicates that mothering is not easy. So, I anticipate the family’s trek and position myself for the right family moment.
This Giclee print is a colour print made on hannemuhle photo rag 308 gsm paper which has a very smooth surface. (Giclee describes a fine art printing process that combines pigment based inks with high quality archival quality paper). My Giclee prints have an extremely wide tonal range and colour gamut.
