Artist's description:

This series of work has developed from memories of childhood play where every boy grows up with toy guns and roles of domination. The work has evolved in to comments of anti war and the childishness of conflict by world leaders, mostly men.
I also wanted to experiment with the subject material usually associated with cyanotypes, this alternative photographic process - generally flat shapes and flowers. I wanted to put myself in the frame. This piece is a Cyanotype - exposed in sunlight for 4 minutes and featuring my hand on the gun with the Noughts and Crosses silk screen print over the top.

Materials used:

UV sensitive chemicals, silk screen inks, plastic toy soldiers, water pistol, human body part

Mostly Crosses (2018)
