Artist's description:

This picture was taken while we were on holiday in Mosspeeble near Langholm, Dumfries and Galloway.

We rented a detached cottage near the owner's farmhouse, there were two horses and a multitude of game birds. The walks along the dirt tracks through the hills were fabulous. This photograph shows one of the direct views that we saw across the hills, with a wildlife pond at the forefront.

Nearby Langholm is colloquially called 'Muckle Toon'.

Langholm is immediately surrounded by four hills in the River Esk valley within Scotland's wider Southern Uplands. The highest of the four hills is 300m Whita hill, the other three hills are Warblaw (in Langholm it is pronounced Warbla), Meikleholmhill (which is known as 'Tinpin') and the Castle Hill.

I am a watercolour artist day by day, however in my spare time I am a keen amateur photographer. When I was at university I took an elective module in photography, here I found an innate connection with Ansel Adams work.

This photograph is a Hahnemühle Fine Art Print created by White Wall.

I chose the Hahnemühle Torchon print with a coarse surface. 285 g/m²:

For extravagant photo production and to capture the 3-dimensionality of an artwork in a unique way. Bright white with a matte finish.
