This is a monotype, a one-off unique artwork and as original as a painting. Rather than painting onto canvas or paper, I create the image on steel (using rollers, brushes, rags and etching inks) which I then print using an etching press, just once.
It's a technique I love, because of the possibility of layering, creating texture and playing with light.
The image is developed from a watercolour sketch of Lake Geneva, Switzerland.
Printed onto Somerset Satin paper 300gms.
Orders are wrapped in acid-free tissue, loosely rolled in a thick-walled 10cm wide cylinder and dispatched signed and tracked within four days.
Any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
Ita technique which lends itself well to seascapes
which you could also call a 'printed painting'
Materials used:
Somerset satin paper 300g, Intaglio printing inks, zinc plate
