Question for the artist?

Artist's description:

In Arthurian legend, Mordred is an enemy of King Arthur who steals the throne in his absence, and crowns himself King. As with many of the tales of King Arthur, details vary in each tale. Sometimes Mordred is Arthur's illegitimate son, in others his nephew, and his actions often different greatly in each retelling. Common to these tales however is that eventually the two meet in battle, Arthur is seriously wounded, and Mordred is killed.

Evil characters are always fun to paint. I wanted to portray him as Arthurs polar opposite - dark, malicious and scheming. The values and cool red/pink light reinforces this. Even his pose, with his back to us, looking over his shoulder, suggests something sinister. I kept things loose, focusing on light and colour to tell his story.
